# Alexplains — Booking a session

> Explanations that finally make sense. One-on-one math and physics tutoring for grades 3–12, online anywhere and in person where our instructors are based.

## How booking works

1. The parent describes the subject, the grade and what is currently causing difficulty.
2. A time is chosen, and the student is matched with an instructor who teaches that subject and has the slot free.
3. The session runs one-to-one — online with a Google Meet link, or in person.

Rules:
- Sessions may be booked up to 14 days in advance
- Booking closes 12 hours before the session start, so the instructor can prepare
- Sessions run between 08:00 and 20:00, America/New_York
- Session lengths: 60, 90, 120 minutes
- A parent or guardian makes the booking and is included on every calendar invite
- A booking is confirmed when it is made, not when it is paid for; payment is by Venmo, due by session time
